LI-4 Hegu – This point lies in the flesh between the thumb and the index finger. Presence of sharp pain on deep pressure confirms the fact that you have hit the right point. Locate the point and then press in gently with the thumb of the opposite hand, placing the fingers underneath the acupoint, against the palm of the hand, for support. Press deeply ane perpendicularly into the point, applying sustained pressure or small massage rotations to the acupoint for 30 second to 1 minute.
LI-18 Futu – Observe and feel a prominent, pointed structure on the front of teh neck. This structure, popularly called the Adam’s apple, move up and down when we talk or swallo. Point lies three thumb-widths away (both sides) from the tip of the Adam’s apple. Point should be stimulated in a pumping manner for about a minute.
PC-6 Neiguan – This point is located at the center of the forearm, two thumb-widths above the wrist-crease. After measuring up the arm, rest the wrist in the fingers of the other hand and use the thumb to locate the point. Apply gentle pressure angled slightly downwards towards the palm and middle finger for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
GB-21 Jianjing – This point is located in a muscle, midway between the neck and shoulder. When correctly located, sharp pain is felt in this point. Point should be stimulated in a pumping manner for about a minute.
CV-22 Tiantu – This point is located at the base of the throat, in a shallow depression just above the vertical chest-bone. Point should be stimulated in a pumping manner for about a minute.
